True Potential has been named in a list of the country’s leading mid-market private firms with the biggest sales. The Sunday Times PwC Top Track 250 league table recognises performance and innovation, with the businesses on the list being commended for the way they have adapted to unprecedented challenges in 2020.
True Potential chief executive Daniel Harrison said: “It’s great to be recognised in the Top Track 250 alongside other North-East companies. There is no question that 2020 and the coronavirus epidemic has presented new challenges to all businesses but you just have to adapt and push through.
“We’ve got some experience of doing business in unusual times having set True Potential up in 2007 at the height of the financial crisis. Although the challenges this year have been very different, our approach has not. We adopted a business as usual mentality from the start, kept all our staff in full employment and have recruited 60 new team members this year.”
Arif Ahmad, a private business partner at sponsor PwC, said: “There’s no doubt that 2020 has posed unprecedented challenges. But time and again, we’ve seen business leaders rising to that challenge, adapting their plans and taking the opportunity to innovate.
“This year, it’s more important than ever to recognise and congratulate the companies featured in the Top Track 250. They are the backbone of the UK economy and it’s our pleasure to work with them, at every stage of their journeys.”
Other businesses recognised include fellow North-East firms Barbour and Hays Travel. The list is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each September.
True Potential has had a record year, with turnover year to date of £130m, which is 23% up compared to the same point last year. In terms of profit, we’ve recorded a profit for the year so far of £50m, an increase of 49% compared to this point 12 months ago. We are pleased to see more than £3bn of clients assets placed onto our investment platform this year and we’re adding a further £1bn every 3 months. Compared to the same period in 2019, sales have increased 58%.
Thank you to all clients and staff who have supported True Potential in 2020, helping us to be recognised in The Sunday Times PwC Top Track 250 league table. More than ever, we are helping clients to do more with their money.
